St John's Choir members meet most Fridays in St John's Church from 7 to about 8pm to rehearse hymns and anthems for the following Sunday.  For Holy Communion services the choir normally sings two hymns during communion, but occasionally sings an anthem instead of one of the hymns.  New members in all voice parts (SATB) would be very welsome.

I wonder if you have heard about the ‘Quiet Revival’? It’s a reported, low-key, yet significant surge in interest in Christianity and church attendance, particularly among young adults (18-34) in the UK. It highlights a shift towards a more active, intentional faith, emphasising Bible engagement and community, and it’s often driven by personal invitations from friends. 

Anecdotally I have heard about many young people locally who are questioning ‘What’s it all about’ and exploring whether faith can offer any answers. Therefore, it seems a perfect time to be offering not only local confirmation classes, but also a Confirmation service in our Benefice in the Summer.

Please extend this invitation to any who would be interested in hearing more about the Christian faith. Each session will offer a chance to reflect, to talk honestly, and to deepen your understanding of what it means to live as a disciple of Christ.

“Not the Marmalade Festival!”

At Blackberry Cottage, Milborne Port

It seems a long time ago that we celebrated the end of winter with our now regular Marmalade Festival at 55 London Road. Now it’s time to enjoy summer and Frank and I would like to invite you all to a Cream Tea (in the garden if the weather allows) on Sunday, 19th July from 2.30-4.30pm.

No ticket price, but donations gleefully accepted in aid of the Church Roof Fund!
Please sign the list in Church to give us some indication of numbers attending.
